Ian Poulter has decided that he will once again play in the European Tour BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Like Padriag Harrington, Poulter has refused to play on the Wentworth golf course, because of the poor conditions of the greens for the past two years.
Significant changes have now been made to the West Course and Padriag Carrington gave the new look course his approval after practicing there last week.
I am delighted to be playing again. It is a great championship and I am looking forward to checking out the modifications to the West Course which Ernie Els has undertaken. I am sure the changes will be for the better" said Poulter
Lee Westwood who will also be participating in the golf championship said of the changes to the golf course
"They have changed it dramatically and to be honest I welcome the changes because the way I usually play on the course has meant that I have never really had a chance,"
Last year’s champion Paul Cassey is looking forward to the challenges the new look golf course will pose
Paul Casey is the defending champion and he is relishing the prospect of the new challenge on offer.
"I'm intrigued to see what Ernie's done and how the greens perform, but I know with two par fives to finish we are going to have fun and excitement," Casey told the European Tour's website. "Anything can happen and that's the beauty of Wentworth.
