Sweden’s Frederick Andersson Hed has won the BMW Italian Open in Turin. It is his first European Tour Title after 245 events.

The first nine holes I was very tense," admitted Anderson Hed, "I started to loosen up a bit from the 11th and played a bit better. It still wasn't great, but it was a more solid last seven or eight holes.

"It means a lot to win, both for the rankings and self-confidence. It would have felt even better to have played well today but I was here to be first and now I am first."

He finished 16 under par, 2 strokes ahead of England’s David Horsey, to claim the prize money of 216,66.00 Euros and one year’s European Tour exemption. The exemption is defiantly a positive for Andersson Hed as he has been to qualifying school 14 times.

Second placed David Horsey, who played an excellent round of golf said "I got off to a flying start and I didn't look at a leader board until around the 13th when I saw that it was very close, I really thought I was in with a good shout and it's disappointing, but I can take a lot of positives from this week."

Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts, Sweden’s Peter Gustafsson and England’s Chris Wood finished two shots back and shared the third place slot.

Last year’s winner Argentine Daniel Vancsik, who won by 6 shots last year finished 124th on 6 over par.
