Forgan sponsored golfer Ian Woosnam has been enrolled into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame on Friday night.
The Welsh Sports Hall of Fame is a recognised charity of 20years which acknowledges the achievements of Welsh Sportsmen and women. It now has over 100 names on its roll of honour
Woosnam is Wales’ only major golf tournament winner, earning the famous green jacket of Augusta in 1991. He has won a total of 47 golf titles around the world and has appeared in the Ryder Cup eight times. He captained the European Ryder Cup team to their record breaking victory in 2006 in Ireland
Two other Welsh Golfers who are already in the Hall of Fame are Dave Thomas, 4 times Ryder Cup player and Vicki Thomas, Wales’s best female golfer.
Woosman who was competing in the Senior Welsh Open Golf Championship at Royal Porthcawl last week, received the honour at a star-studded presentation dinner in Cardiff.
Simon Millington CEO of Forgan of St Andrews said “We are delighted that Woosie has been awarded this. It is well deserved and a reflection of all he has achieved in the world of golf during his career.”
