Ian Woosnam has said that the masters will be challenging this year. Former Masters winner Woosnam has said the pre-tournament conditions at Augusta are extremely difficult.
"I played nine holes and it felt like 18," said the 1991 champion, who has not made the Masters cut in 10 years.
"It was really hot and dusty, hard work. I thought the course may have been thinner on the fairways but it's playing long with plenty of growth.
"The course is in great shape, it's going to be hard for shorter hitters. 1991 seems like a lifetime ago!"
Forgan sponsored, Woosnam, will be doing it for his country as he is the only Welsh competitor in the field this year. The 2008 Senior Order of Merit winner now spends the majority of his time playing on the Seniors circuit. He will be the first European out on the course as he is teeing off at 13:12 BST on Thursday then 16:19 BST on Friday. He will be playing with Marc Leishman from Australia and Brian Gay from USA.
